Priory Hospital Bristol has an opportunity for a Deputy Ward Manager to join our team on our mixed Acute Ward. We have an exciting opportunity to join our brand-new mixed acute ward at Priory Bristol. Priory Hospital Bristol, Stapleton, Bristol is a specialist mental health and addiction treatment service for individuals, families and couples. It provides fast access to treatment for a range of psychiatric conditions and addictions. It is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes serving Stapleton and Bristol Parkway railway station approximately 2–3 miles from the hospital.

What you'll be doing

As a Deputy Ward Manager, you will provide strong clinical leadership within the ward, ensuring a safe, therapeutic and inclusive environment for patients, families and staff. You will lead and support the nursing team, promoting high standards of care, effective risk management, multidisciplinary working and evidence-based practice. You will supervise and develop staff, support junior and student nurses, contribute to clinical supervision and take responsibility for agreed ward lead roles. You will also act as Named Nurse and shift leader, deputise for the Ward Manager when required, and support recruitment and retention, while ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, policies and governance standards.

What you'll bring to the role

Essential for the role
  • Active Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council,
  • At least 18 Months – 2 years’ experience post-registration
  • RMN and RNLD qualified  
 
 The following experience would be beneficial
  • Experience working in an Acute setting
