Responsibilities

This position is for an enterprise architect role in the PathWave Software Platform organization and can be performed anywhere in the US, including remote. We are responsible for accelerating internal cloud product development and providing an open platform for our partners and customers to build and integrate their distributed solutions. We are building towards our first major external solution launch in FY24 and need outstanding technical leadership to coordinate teams, solve technical challenges, and dive into day-to-day challenges. 

 

We are seeking a proven software architect with experience designing, implementing, deploying and maintaining distributed and cloud solutions. As an architect, you will be a critical, top-level contributor to Keysight’s cloud platform. You will work closely with strategic planners, project management and customers to understand key challenges and communicate Keysight’s solution to them. You will be a technical leader, providing mentoring, best practices and hands-on guidance to our developers to keep the agile delivery train rolling. You will synthesize requirements into actionable architecture and designs, and spearhead implementation.   

 

 

You will be expected to: 

• Lead the creation of the architecture for the PathWave Software Platform. 
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them for the development teams. 
• Establish development practices and processes to guide and educate the development teams on coding for distributed solutions. 
• Effectively communicate up and down across cross-functional teams.  
• Triage issues effectively. 

 

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent discipline. 
• 10+ years of software development experience. 
• Prior experience serving as architect (more preferred) or lead engineer (less preferred) for successful cloud native software product. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. 
• Experience taking a software project from an early concept through deployment and support using agile methodologies. 

• Scaled agile experience (SAFe, LeSS) experience a plus. 

• Experience with distributed systems architecture a must. 

• RESTful and gRPC API design. 
• Access/Identity management (OAuth2, OIDC), Keycloak 

• Scalable/highly available design experience. 
• Secure design practices. 

• Database design and scaling experience a strong bonus. 

• Experience with Apache Spark and Delta Lake a strong bonus. 

• Tools and Languages 

• Angular, SCSS, Typescript, Golang, node.js, git 

• Deployment experience with Kubernetes and related technologies 

• Terraform 
• GitOps (ArgoCD) 

• SaaS operational experience with Kubernetes and related technologies 

• Monitoring/alerting 
• Incident management, downtime/disaster recovery 

• AWS experience a plus. Azure, Google Cloud experience helpful. 

• Managing large scale deployments. 
• Multi-zone availability/scalability. 

 

This role can be performed anywhere in the US, including remote.
