Period of employment / Hours:

Permanent full-time (76.00 hours per fortnight) day work (part-time hours may be considered by negotiation)

Duties:

Primary Purpose / Focus :

The core objectives of the role are to:

  • Provide high level support and advice to the Director Community Infrastructure and the Homes Tasmania, in relation to the maintenance of the community infrastructure property portfolio.
  • Lead the Property Maintenance team and manage building and landscape maintenance contracts for the community infrastructure portfolio.
  • Ensure effective relationships with government and non-government agencies, contractors, and stakeholders.  

Skills and experience :

Selection criteria includes:

  • Extensive experience in and specialist knowledge of strategic asset management planning and contract management for a major housing or asset portfolio. This includes strategic policy development and planning with relevance to the delivery of maintenance service models and options.
  • Demonstrated high level experience in leading, managing and conducting efficiency and effectiveness reviews, including appraisals of contract services, analysis of operational activities and work practices and development of options for improved service delivery.
  • Highly developed written communication skills including the ability to produce information that is readily understandable to non-specialists.  Experience in preparation of detailed briefs and project reports.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Working towards or have attained tertiary qualifications in a management or humanities field.
  • Post-graduate qualifications in social housing or similar would be highly regarded.
