Job Description

As a Security Guard - Industrial Access Control in Sunnyvale, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial and more .

As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a leading manufacturing and industrial location, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a secure environment for all personnel and visitors. Your responsibilities will include monitoring and controlling access points, conducting routine patrols throughout the facility, and remaining highly visible to provide a reassuring presence. You will also deliver exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries and assisting with any security-related concerns. This position requires driving as part of your daily duties, so a valid driver's license is necessary. What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and control access to the location, verifying credentials and authorizations for entry and exit.
• Provide customer service by assisting employees, visitors, and contractors with access-related inquiries and procedures.
• Carry out security-related procedures and follow site-specific policies to help maintain a secure environment.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Document and report any irregularities, security-related incidents, or unusual activity as required by Allied Universal and site protocols.
• Support emergency response activities as needed, including assisting with evacuations or lockdowns according to site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located is required and must meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements for driving positions.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
