Software Quality Assurance Technician

Purpose:

The QA Technician ensures reliable content by identifying, analyzing, and documenting problems with program function, output, online screen, or other content. Develops testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, and usability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Confirms that support tickets are properly completed and assigned work schedules maintained.
• Prepares QA documentation: test plans, test strategies, and test cases.
• Performs product tests and tests relating to software product to ensure end-to-end quality in the development cycle.
• Participates in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product design, schedules, or potential problems.
• Communicates with scope team to ensure development specifications are met.
• Participates in evaluation of product readiness for release.
• Assists in development of special department projects as instructed by QA Manager.

Other related duties as assigned.

• Analytical with strong attention to detail and the ability to master new applications and technologies quickly.
• Excellent analytical, prioritization and scheduling skills.
• Ability to perform logical test scenario planning.
• Ambitious, eager to learn and aptitude for technology.
• Strong oral and written communication skills with strong collaboration abilities.
  

Education and Experience:

• 2+ years relevant experience in functional testing preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in information science, computer science or a computer-science related field preferred.
• Knowledge of Quality Assurance terminology and methods.
• Proficient in Quality Assurance tools within 90 days.
