Your Responsibilities

 

As a Sustainability Operations Project Manager for John Deere Waterloo Works located in Waterloo, Iowa, you will manage and coordinate the successful delivery of Strategic Operations projects with low complexity and/or tactical Operations projects with high complexity.  This position will serve as a critical business partner throughout implementation of our many projects to support the successful execution of our Sustainability Leap Ambitions by determining baselines, developing glidepaths, and setting milestones for our sustainability goals at Foundry, Drivetrain, and Tractor Operations. In addition, you will...

 

  • Provide technical and strategic support for our new Deere initiatives, including measured customer sustainable outcomes and Scope 1 & 2 emissions reductions     
  • Work across the unit to assist with engraining sustainability into core processes which enable monitoring, execution, and validation of the Leap Ambitions.
  • Create ongoing communications to amplify the unit’s sustainability efforts with factory leadership and affected stakeholders.
  • Develop tools, processes, or other capabilities to support execution of the sustainability related goals.
  • Work cross functionally and provide guidance to Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Material Flow, Facilities Engineering, Environmental, SCF, and Operations to successfully meet project timelines and objectives.
  • Develop and manage relevant capital and project budgets.

What Skills You Need

 

  • 2 or more years of project management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead without authority across functional areas.
  • Ability to cut through ambiguity to drive toward appropriate deliverables.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and/or machining processes, Order Fulfillment process, and the Deere Production System.
  • Project management experience demonstrating effective communication, teamwork skills, problem solving, and multiple concurrent project workload management.
  • Knowledge of capital budgeting and capital project justification process.
  • Demonstrated communication skills adapting messages to variety of audiences to align objectives.

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • 3 or more years of manufacturing and/or operations experience.
  • Cross functional work experience in multiple areas, i.e. quality, manufacturing engineering, operations, material flow, environmental.
  • Experience in strategic development or department level business plan development.
  • Active engagement in ERG’s, DEI initiatives, or community engagement.
  • Experience in the area of sustainability, including metrics tracking, reporting, and key frameworks and standards.

Education

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent work experience
