Job Overview:

LPL is seeking a results-driven and adaptable leader to serve as Chief of Staff for the Legal, Policy & Community Impact (LPC) organization. In this role, the VP, Chief of Staff will act as a strategic partner and operational leader, seamlessly balancing high-level strategic execution with attention to critical details. The ideal candidate is an innovative problem solver who thrives in a dynamic environment, enabling the Managing Director and leadership team to focus on priorities that drive impact. This individual will play a key role in business execution and decision-making, consistently demonstrating sound judgment, objectivity, and reliability while fostering strong partnerships across Legal & Government Relations and the broader enterprise.

This position will be based in LPL Financial’ s New York City office.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver executive-level reports and presentations for the Management Committee and steering committees, providing strategic insights and thought leadership.

  • Establish and maintain effective management and reporting routines that enable the Group Managing Director to focus on high-priority matters.

  • Coordinate the execution of strategic initiatives and department-wide deliverables in partnership with senior leaders across LPC.

  • Collaborate with the Group Managing Director and LPC senior leadership team to define department goals and translate the business plan into actionable outcomes.

  • Oversee the LPC Leadership Team’s operating rhythm, including strategic reviews, goal-setting sessions, and leadership offsites.

  • Manage governance of the department’s goals, ensuring transparency through key performance metrics that measure organizational effectiveness.

  • Participate in ongoing business planning activities, including budgeting, headcount forecasting, priority setting, and initiative funding.

  • Partner with other Chiefs of Staff to drive alignment and activation of firm-wide priorities.

  • Oversee expense management, including headcount and departmental budget oversight.

  • Prepare influential executive-level presentations to support fact-based business cases, recommendations, and program updates.

  • Foster strong partnerships with senior leaders and cross-functional teams (e.g., Finance, People) to ensure timely delivery of firm-wide commitments.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience, ideally within the financial services or technology sectors, with a proven track record in a prior Chief of Staff role, large-scale project management, corporate strategy, or similar leadership positions.

  • Experience with analytics and reporting expertise, including the ability to interpret metrics, identify patterns, and synthesize insights from key performance indicators.

  • Experience with demonstrated success in strategic planning and project management, with a strong sense of urgency and commitment to timely execution. Skilled at managing multiple priorities independently and effectively.
