Please note: This position has the possibility to work remotely up to 100% of the time. The position will require occasional travel to the Phoenix corporate offices and/or site locations . This position may be performed anywhere in the U.S. except California, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Michigan, Illinois, Kentucky and New York. Additional states may be excluded from remote work based on business factors. Should the positions shift to in-office work in the future, the company will offer relocation benefits at that time should the position meet the established eligibility for these benefits.
Description
The Expediting Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the timely delivery and quality of material, equipment, and services required for major capital projects. They are responsible for implementing the corporate strategy and managing the expediting process, coordinating with vendors, monitoring delivery schedules, and resolving any issues that may arise during the procurement and delivery process. The Expediting Manager ensures all materials and equipment are delivered according to project timelines and quality standards, contributing to the overall success of the projects. They manage a team of expeditors and supplier quality surveillance personnel assigned to global projects overseeing a portfolio of capital spend of multiple billion dollars projects and may support more than 10 capital projects concurrently.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of corporate strategy related to strategic expediting and supplier quality surveillance (SQS). This includes building and leading a global team of strategic expeditors and quality surveillance resources. Accountable for the development of key metrics and reporting methodology to support the successful execution of capital projects, timelines, and budgets while maintaining a comprehensive expediting plan to monitor the progress of purchase orders and delivery schedules.
- Manage and oversee expediting and SQS programs across capital projects to provide uniformity, ensure efficient utilization of resources and minimize project delays.
- Manage and assign expediting and SQS personnel including leads and coordinators as well as coordinate with approved third-party agencies to provide expediting and SQS services. This includes the management of international visits to vendor facilities and directs the negotiation methods to improve delivery or mitigate impacts to projects.
- Works with the GMM capital projects team to develop reporting systems to be utilized across capital projects to provide uniformity in the dissemination of information.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure the quality and conformity of materials and equipment and train and mentor personnel as required to maintain standards.
- Coordinate the expediting activities for the procurement of materials and equipment required for capital projects.
- Proactively identify potential delays or issues in the supply chain and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks and maintain project schedules and develop mitigation plans with vendors to ensure compliance with delivery timelines and quality specifications.
- Collaborate with the procurement and engineering teams to resolve any discrepancies related to purchase orders, specifications or terms.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including project managers, engineers and construction to understand material requirements and project priorities.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations and best practices related to expediting, supplier quality surveillance and supply chain management and maintain vendor performance metrics and provide feedback to the procurement teams to facilitate future vendor selection and performance improvements.
