POSITION SUMMARY

The Insurance Biller of Physician Clinic Billing ensures that all services provided by the Marshall Family Medicine Clinics are processed, coded, billed, and followed in accordance with government regulations, insurance carriers guidelines for electronic or hard copy submission.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge:               

• Comprehensive working knowledge of CPT, HCPS, ICDP coding, all insurance carrier billing and appeals processes.

•  Previous PC, insurance billing software, medical terminology in a caregiver setting experience required. Working knowledge of workers compensation, CHDP, CMSP, Medi-Cal, MEDICARE, HMO, capitation, PACT, BCDEP claims preferred. 

• Must be able to take and pass a proficiency exam to demonstrate experience for this position.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills to be exhibited in a multitask flexible environment. 

• Ability to stand up to and converse, through written and oral communication, to all insurance carriers, while demonstrating a positive, professional, and knowledgeable attitude in order to obtain correct and timely coding and reimbursement.
