Job Description:

Responsibilities 

• As a Senior Product Manager, you will be a member of the Product team and in charge of product definition, roadmap, and direction of one of the core components of VMware Edge Compute Stack 
• Meet with customers to understand needs and act as an advocate within VMware for their requirements  
• You will be responsible for customer and market research that you will use to define the strategy for your area of Edge Computing and present that strategy to internal stakeholders and customers. This may include defining product-market fit and market sizing. 
• Advise Sales and SDE executives on product strategy 
• Build trust and alignment on priorities and roadmap
• You will work cross-functionally with user experience, engineering, marketing, sales, and customer success to create innovative services.
• Act as a spokesperson for Edge Compute with customers, partners, industry analysts, and external organizations
•  Work closely with Product Marketing to define the go-to-market plan

 Required skills 

• 15+ years of software industry experience with a mix of product management, software development, and/or strategy development
• Strong technical skills and comfortable in front of internal solutions architects, customers, and partners. 
• Familiarity with public cloud offerings and experience with delivering cloud-based services is highly desirable. 
• Background in rapid SaaS delivery and working closely with agile teams, Customer Success, and Operations 
• Able to breakdown complex problems into simple solutions
• Obsess about customers, users, and their needs
• Passionate technologists, ready to evangelize within and outside of VMware
• Excellent oral and written communication skills 
• Strong ability to influence people at all levels and across roles
• Exceptionally strong analytical and organizational skills 
• Willing to travel up to 25% time 

 Preferred skills 

• BS in Computer Science or related technical field
• Experience at a Public Cloud vendor, Cloud Service Provider, technology/software firm, systems integrator.
• Experience taking a new cloud service to market

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $146,000 - $234,000.

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
