As an MA Supervisor, you will perform a combination of medical assistant care responsibilities as well as supervisory responsibilities of MA staff within the clinic to assure consistency in procedures and clinical outcomes. This position will oversee the Medical Assistant staff and will report to the Site Operations Director.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts daily rounds to give updates to the Site Leadership, and MAs and monitor the performance and wellbeing of the MAs.
- Exercises clinical and administrative supervision of the Medical Assistant team.
- Completes annual performance appraisals on all Medical Assistants in a timely manner.
- In accordance with HealthLinc policy and procedure, assists in hiring, training, and retention of medical assistant staff.
- Assures inventory is complete and orders the necessary medication, supplies, and equipment for medical office/clinical area weekly.
- Works with the Director of Nursing regarding clinical processes and competency training of medical assistant staff.
- Serves as Vaccine Coordinator which includes maintaining inventory for vaccines, sending orders once a month, and maintaining temperature of vaccine storage.
- Coordinates daily tasks and schedules for MAs.
- Ensures health care services are in compliance with professional standards, the Code-of-Conduct, state and HealthLinc policies and procedures.
- Performs MA duties as needed.
- All HealthLinc staff is committed to engage in quality improvement initiatives that align with and support Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH).
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of a program for Medical Assistants
- Current Certification/Registration as Medical Assistant
- Current CPR certification
Experience
- At least two years of experience as a Medical Assistant
- At least one year of experience in supervising others (not required but highly preferred)
Skills/Job Requirement
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong leadership skills essential
- Ability to deal with crisis situations in calm and professional manner
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to remain flexible and adaptable
- Ability to follow HealthLinc policies and procedures
Technology Skills
- Operate a multi-line telephone console and other office equipment including printers, fax machines, etc.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, EHR, online sources, etc.)
