Job Summary

The Director of Basketball Operations & Video Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day administrative and operational management of the men’s basketball program while overseeing all video operations. This position serves as the primary liaison for team logistics and technology, providing critical support in travel, scheduling, scouting, recruiting, player development, and compliance. The position allows the coaching staff to focus on recruiting, player development, and competitive preparation by ensuring the program operates efficiently at every level.

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Basketball Operations

  • Coordinate all team travel including flights, buses, hotels, meals, and itineraries.
  • Manage practice and competition schedules in coordination with athletics administration.
  • Coordinate game-day operations and serve as the primary operations contact for home contests.
  • Assist with budget tracking, purchasing, and expense reconciliation.
  • Organize team equipment orders and inventory.
  • Coordinate recruiting visits, including travel, lodging, meals, itineraries, and campus schedules.
  • Maintain operational calendars and coordinate communication among coaching staff, student-athletes, athletic administration, and campus partners.
  • Assist with NCAA compliance documentation and required reporting.
  • Coordinate summer camps and clinics.

 

Video Operations

  • Film all practices and games.
  • Manage the team’s video database and digital library.
  • Exchange game film with opponents.
  • Prepare practice edits and player teaching clips.
  • Produce opponent scouting edits for coaches.
  • Create individual player development videos.
  • Maintain all video equipment and software.
  • Support coaches with analytical reports using Synergy, Hudl Sportscode, FastModel, and other basketball technology platforms.

 

Scouting & Basketball Analytics

  • Assist coaches in preparing opponent scouting reports.
  • Analyze statistical trends and advanced analytics.
  • Develop player personnel reports.
  • Compile game and season analytics for coaching staff.
  • Assist with postgame statistical review.

 

Recruiting Support

  • Maintain recruiting database.
  • Evaluate video of prospective student-athletes.
  • Assist with recruiting communication and organization.
  • Coordinate official and unofficial campus visits.
  • Prepare recruiting presentations and prospect profiles.
  • Support the coaching staff with recruiting research.

 

Player Development Support

  • Assist with individual skill workouts as directed by the coaching staff.
  • Monitor player progress through video analysis.
  • Provide post-workout feedback using video review.
  • Support strength and conditioning scheduling.
  • Assist with academic and life-skills programming as assigned.

 

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Supervise student managers and student assistants.
  • Coordinate practice schedules and facility reservations.
  • Assist with fundraising and donor events.
  • Coordinate alumni engagement activities.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the Head Coach or Athletics Administration.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in collegiate basketball operations, coaching, or video coordination.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Experience with basketball video and analytics software.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel with the team.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced/Master’s degree.
