POSITION SUMMARY:
The IT Business Solutions Analyst acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and the IT organization to ensure technology solutions meet business needs. This role focuses on analyzing business processes, identifying improvement opportunities, gathering requirements, and supporting the design, development, and implementation of IT solutions that drive business success.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Collaborate with business units to understand their objectives, processes, and challenges.
- Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for IT systems and solutions.
- Translate business needs into clear technical requirements for development teams.
- Conduct gap analysis between current and desired states and recommend solution improvements.
- Support solution design and validate that system functionality meets business requirements.
- Assist with system testing (UAT), implementation, and post-deployment support activities.
- Work closely with project managers, developers, architects, and QA teams to deliver solutions on time and within scope.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical business users.
- Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to clearly communicate functional system requirements.
- Help develop training materials and user documentation for new systems and enhancements.
- Identify opportunities for system and process optimization, automation, and innovation.
- Support change management efforts to drive adoption of new systems and solutions.
- Lead the planning and implementation of IT projects, including system upgrades, infrastructure deployments, application rollouts, and service transformations.
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with business and technical stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, resource estimates, and budgets.
- Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate change management processes.
- Coordinate internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Facilitate project meetings, status reporting, risk assessments, and issue resolution.
- Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals.
- Communicate project progress clearly to leadership, sponsors, and stakeholders.
- Ensure projects adhere to governance and compliance standards, including documentation and post-project evaluations.
- Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and obstacles proactively
- Drive adoption and support for IT solutions among end users.
- Develop, write, and edit internal communications for IT initiatives, including announcements, newsletters, knowledge articles, service updates, change management notices, FAQs, and training materials.
- Translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly language for a wide range of audiences.
- Collaborate with global and regional teams to tailor messages for different locations, time zones, and cultural audiences where needed.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience leading or operating in this role of 10+ years).
- 10+ years of proven experience managing IT projects.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, or hybrid models).
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet, ServiceNow, etc.).
- Solid technical background with an ability to understand IT concepts such as networking, cloud services, infrastructure, and enterprise applications.
