Position Overview:
Aspire Living & Learning Academy- Stamford is a small private non-profit school catering to fewer than 40 students. We are currently seeking a qualified individual to fulfill the role of School Nurse. The ideal candidate will hold and maintain, state certification of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse and possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
Hours: M-F 7:00a-3:00p
Salary range for this position is $40,000 - $60,000
Aspire Living & Learning is currently seeking an Administrative School Nurse to work in our Stamford Location. This position will report to the Project Director/School Principal.

Job Purpose:
The Administrative School Nurse at Aspire Living & Learning plays a vital role in fulfilling the dual role of School Nurse with Administrative Assistant responsibilities. The ideal candidate will hold and maintain, state certification of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse and possess excellent organizational and communication skills. This position offers the unique opportunity to contribute to both the health and administrative functions of our school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health Services:
- Serve as a member of the school team as the designated health professional, (PPT) meetings as needed.
- Maintain accurate health records in compliance with Connecticut state requirements.
- Oversee compliance with state-mandated physical examinations and immunization requirements.
- Coordinate the administration of prescribed medications and treatments for students.
- Train designated staff in medication administration according to state regulations.
- Develop individualized health care plans for students as needed.
- Perform vision, hearing, and postural screenings as per state regulations.
- Serve as a resource for school staff regarding health care issues and disease prevention.
- Provide health care treatment to injured or sick students and staff.
- Administrative Duties:
- Monitor the school's main office, including greeting visitors and overseeing visitor sign-in/out
- Answer phones, take messages, and manage incoming mail.
- Assist with administrative tasks at the discretion of the Principal and Chief Administrator, such as making copies, entering data into record systems, and maintaining inventory of office supplies, school store items, and curricula.
- Organize documents to be sent home for students and oversee ordering and delivery of school lunches.
- Monitor student attendance and record absences.
- Schedule PPT meetings and facilitate communication regarding PPTs and corresponding paperwork with districts.
- Participate in the School Safety Committee by recording and distributing meeting minutes.
- Cultivate a supportive and efficient workplace atmosphere to enhance team morale and productivity.
- Participate in and complete training sessions as delegated by management to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
- Perform any additional job responsibilities as assigned by supervisors or team leaders to support the smooth operation of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Experience working in a school setting preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and data entry.
