Manufacturing Engineers develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying products and manufacturing methods. They analyze product specifications to determine appropriate designs and processes that support these customer requirements. As a Manufacturing Engineer with our Raytheon team, you’ll apply your skills to develop, test, modify and create solutions through a collaborative effort with our stakeholders.

What You Will Do:
As a Principal Manufacturing Engineer, your responsibilities will include the following:
- Managing large scale design, control and improvements to the manufacturing process
- Developing Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool and fixture designs
- Establishing engineering design requirements tailored to manufacturing processes
- Supporting manufacturing areas daily with process troubleshooting and incorporating engineering changes into the MDP
- Leading non-conforming material analysis with root cause and corrective action analysis as required
- Leading Continuous Improvement to improve cycle time, reduce ergonomic risk to assemblers, automate and reduce costs
- Leading factory wide strategic improvement projects
- Leading corrective action investigations to prevent recurrence
- Providing real-time technical support to manufacturers and fabricators; in-house as well as the supply base.
- Developing and implementing manufacturing process control and performance monitoring
- Tool/fixture development to drive ergonomics into processes
- Developing and maintaining influential relationships with internal customers
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance.
This job is posted as ONSITE and is based at Raytheon’s Farmington, NM site.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires: Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience. An advanced degree may account for additional years of experience as required for this position
- Experience with a shop floor management system (i.e. SAP, PRISM, EPICOR, or similar ERP or MRP manufacturing software) and/or experience interpreting technical documentation
- Experience leading teams or projects
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Technical drawing interpretation, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with technical writing
- Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools (preference for CREO/ProE)
- Experience with automated tooling, machinery and programming
- Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines
- Experience with Refurbishment and Repair requirements and processing of Government Furnished Material (GFM) or Equipment (GFE)
- Organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and innovative mindset that drives continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and keeps pace with advances in technology
