The senior director will be accountable for global clinical operations financial performance across 3 development segments – innovative medicine, biosimilar and generics. The incumbent has primary day-to-day responsibility for planning & reporting, managing and controlling all financial-related activities across multi countries and locations for internal and external work performed by CRO’s and other vendors. Act as strategic financial partner to procurement and external stakeholders striving for cost effective contracts, optimal financial terms and accurate and timely planning and reporting.
How you’ll spend your day
- Lead financial planning and reporting process and KPI’s including short term and long terms planning objective for Innovative medicine development programs and segment.
- Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with CRO’s senior finance leads with the objective to align on cost drivers and forecasts as well as to enhance monitoring of the CRO’s charges.
- Engage with procurement on contracts with CRO’s for Innovative clinical studies, review and approve financial terms and confirm planning is consistent with contract value
- Ensure credibility of Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
- Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
- Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile.
- Take hands-on lead position of developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive study planning system.
Your experience and qualifications
- A minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible experience for an innovative pharmaceuticals company and/or CRO’s
- Advanced knowledge of budgeting and forecasting processes of clinical studies
- Bachelors required. Preference MBA in Finance and the Certified Public Accountant
- experience in partnering with an executive team.
- have a high level of written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential.
- Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
