<p>About the Role:</p>
<p> </p>
<p>An ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) Production Support Data Engineer is part of the overall Data Engineering team and specifically the Production Support team where you will work. The Abinitio Production support team are responsible for the successful completion of the overnight ETL batches loading to the Enterprise Data Warehouse, within the agreed SLA’s. This provides the business timely access to accurate data flows for their reporting commitments. </p>

<p>This role will involve working closely with the Senior ETL Engineer on the team and the Operational teams within the CTO on Problem and an incident management. Data Engineering, IT Operations and Batch Management work together to ensure a collaborative approach to managing the extensive Data Engineering batch. </p>

<p>The Ab-Initio Production Support team forms part of the Data Engineering and Architecture area within the Centre of Excellence for Data and Analytics at AIB. Our Production Support Data Engineering Team plays a key role in enabling timely access to accurate data, by monitoring the performance and failures in the overnight batch and intervening when necessary to ensure its completion.</p>

<p>Key Responsibilities Include:</p>
<p> </p>
<ul>
<li>Investigate and resolve existing ETL scripts in error in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Document source-to-target mappings.</li>
<li>Re-engineer manual data flows to enable scaling and repeatable use.</li>
<li>Support the build of data streaming systems.</li>
<li>Write ETL scripts and code to make sure the ETL process performs optimally.</li>
<li>Develop business intelligence reports that can be re-used.</li>
<li>Build accessible data for analysis.</li>
</ul>

<p>We’re looking for someone who:</p>
<p> </p>
<ul>
<li>Has experience of any ETL (Extract, Transform and load) tool. Ab Initio is the ETL tool used in the team and experience with this would give an advantage.</li>
<li>Has experience in SQL (Structured Query Language).</li>
<li>Develops and maintains scalable data pipelines.</li>
<li>Demonstrates experience in the areas of tool usage with large data structures. </li>
<li>Implements processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it.</li>
<li>Follows application design standards and frameworks related to model deployment and execution.</li>
<li>Collaborates with analytics and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility, and fostering data-driven decision making across the organisation.</li>
<li>Ensures data deployments are to the highest quality and standards.</li>

<p>Skills needed for this role:</p>

<ul>
<li>Communication skills: You know about the need to translate technical concepts into non-technical language and understand what communication is required for internal and external stakeholders.</li>
<li>Data analysis and synthesis: You know how to undertake data profiling and source system analysis and can present clear insights to colleagues to support the end use of the data. </li>
<li>Data development process: You can design, build, and test data products based on feeds from multiple systems using a range of different storage technologies and/or access methods. You know how to create repeatable and reusable products.</li>
<li>Data innovation: You know about opportunities for innovation with new tools and the use of data. </li>
<li>Data integration design: You can deliver data solutions in accordance with agreed organisational standards that ensure services are resilient, scalable, and future proof. </li>
