The Opportunity

As a dedicated ED, Business and Data Analytics, you will responsible for the development and implementation of multiple Data and Analytics sub-functions  for Claims that may include: Information Strategy and Architecture, Information Management, Information Governance, Information Delivery Analytics & Insights Delivery, and Support. Lead the short-term and long-term strategy and vision of the assigned sub-functions for the CoSA Claims working with peers to set objectives across the different sub-functions that align with enterprise USAA strategies.

  • Strategic Leadership: Envision, develop, refresh, and implement Claims data and workforce strategies for multiple lines of business with delivery through agile process optimization across the organization, aligning with the company's strategic objectives.

  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Agile Process Owners and User Acceptance Testers, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management. Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.

  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in agile processes across all teams, analyzing data, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing effective solutions. This includes coaching teams on scaling agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS).

  • Framework Implementation & Standardization: Ensure consistent adoption and implementation of agile methodologies and frameworks across the organization. Develop and maintain standards and best practices for agile processes.

  • Metrics & Reporting: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to agile performance, providing regular reports and insights to senior leadership.

  • Collaboration & Influence: Build strong relationships with stakeholders and key enterprise-wide senior business leaders to ensure alignment and collaboration on agile initiatives.

  • Training & Development: Develop and deliver training programs on agile methodologies and best practices to improve the skills and knowledge of agile teams and stakeholders.

  • Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders across multiple departments, including senior management, claims business partners, legal, and IT. Manage expectations and resolve conflicts.

  • Tooling & Technology: Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies to support the implementation and improvement in the advanced analytics in supporting the Claims organization.   This includes tools and technology to improve operational and workforce monitoring and effectiveness.

  • Budget Management: Manage the budget for the team, ensuring responsible and efficient resource allocation.

  • Change Management: Lead and manage change initiatives related to the adoption and improvement of processes, ensuring smooth transitions and minimizing disruption

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Phoenix, AZ, or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Responsible for strategic, tactical, operational, and financial responsibilities associated with CoSA data storage, data preparation, data exploration, information governance, analytics, and information delivery.

  • Leads the strategy of the sub-functions by establishing and executing a vision for the delivery of information and analytics platforms and solutions to the business’ key stakeholders and cross-CoSA partners.

  • Provide oversight for successful end to end process of information management, analytics and delivery.

  • Provides thought leadership and participate in developing talent across the USAA Data and Analytics Community.

  • Keeps current of industry leading practices and advances in data and analytics as well as the business associated with the assigned CoSA.
