Purpose/Introduction

Chevron Phillips Chemical (CPChem) is seeking a Plant Application specialist to join the Information Technology group located at its existing Orange, Texas facility. This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your industry IT experience and become part of a great company and flagship facility. The position will report to the IT Manager, Port Arthur/Orange facilities. This critical IT plant support position will be responsible for supporting various critical manufacturing software systems, participating in enterprise-wide project implementations, support numerous mobile applications as well as provide after hours on-call rotation duties with other team members.
 

Responsibilities

  • Implement and support manufacturing plant software systems for various departments within the facility
  • Support for plant specific software solutions (i.e. StarLIMS, Esoms, KMS, Smart Procedures)
  • Work with plant customers/stakeholders to assist in providing solutions to meet specific data requirement needs 
  • Handle incoming Remedy Help Desk tickets from end users to resolve application and software issues within servers, databases, and other mission-critical systems
  • Diagnose, test and resolve application problems and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved
  • Document problem resolutions for use in after-hours support
  • Develop and conduct end user training as necessary for various plant application systems
  • Perform software application and disaster recovery testing, ensuring business-readiness following failover
  • Participate as necessary in corporate software development efforts
  • Assist with Corporate application rollouts

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of an or associate degree in computer related field plus five years of industry experience or 12 years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • In-depth, hands-on knowledge of and experience with enterprise infrastructure and desktop applications including, but not limited to:
    • Manufacturing application systems
    • Critical industry related systems
  • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server to create and maintain SQL databases and create SQL based reports
  • Proven ability to develop and interpret technical documentation for training, end-user processes and procedures
  • Ability to present ideas in a business-friendly and user-friendly language
  • Familiarity in using and supporting Microsoft SharePoint online pages
  • Familiarity in using and supporting Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Ability to develop in and support a variety of custom mobile application systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with development and support of Forms on Fire© Mobile Applications Suite
  • Familiarity with development and support of power-user application technologies, such as Microsoft Access, Excel, and Power Apps
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell
  • General IIS Web Server and vendor web applications knowledge
