As a Security Officer - Academic Institution in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education and more .

As a Front Desk Security Professional with Allied Universal at a prominent educational location, you will be the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring access, verifying credentials, and providing a welcoming presence while helping to deter security-related incidents. You will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment by managing entry points, responding to inquiries, and delivering outstanding customer service. What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at the front desk.
• Monitor access to the location, verifying identification and credentials of individuals entering the premises.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and/or unusual occurrences at the front desk.
• Assist with emergency response activities as appropriate, including communicating with emergency personnel and following evacuation procedures if needed.
• Answer questions and provide information to visitors and staff, directing them as necessary within the location.
• Help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity by maintaining a visible presence at the front desk.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have 1 or more years of law enforcement experience, or 2 or more years of security supervisor or manager experience, or 3 or more years of security-related experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
