About the role

We’re seeking someone to join our team as a Business Analyst who is passionate about data and solving complex data Governance problems and will help extend our strategic firm wide suite of applications. The candidate will be involved in working with technology and business teams to understand their data governance needs and help them get onboarded to Firmwide Data Catalog.  

In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. We are looking for a structured, highly organized Business Analyst with the ability to self-manage, work with a level of ambiguity and has a pro-active approach. This person will need to be able to work in a complex environment and as part of a large scale global, fast paced project. The candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to autonomously work within projects using an Agile approach from inception to completion as part of a wider program.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Understand the Firmwide Data Office (FDO) strategy provided by the Fleet leadership

  • Work in a team environment, build and maintain a network of contacts, and coordinate with a large number of stakeholders across the business and technology

  • Deal with ambiguity and define approaches to bring un-focused issues to resolution

  • Drive consistent engagement to gather requirements and provide solutions across products for data lineage

  • Work closely with the squads to support key aspects of execution of Data Lineage program and capability development

  • Ensure that the right solution is delivered by the squads by creating the appropriate user stories with acceptance criteria and refining them with users and developers

  • Participate and run Business Design forums to Govern design decisions  as required

  • Ensure that the linkage across the hourglass is understood by the relevant squads and stakeholders and dependencies are easily identified

  • Contribute to the BA Chapter standards and best practices

  • Participate in transforming the firm towards a Data Driven culture

What you'll bring to the role: 

  • Understanding of Ontologies, Graph Databases

  • Experience in any Data Governance Tool like Collibra, etc

  • Understanding of Data Governance - Concepts, Policies and Principles

  • Knowledge of Agile software development practices, BDD, TDD, Continuous Integration

  • Awareness of Jira, Rally, etc.

  • Understanding of Data Management

  • Excellent Communication skills

  • Certifications relevant to Governance, Modelling, Architecture

  • Ability to create detailed user stories, working with users and developers to refine stories

  • Experience of working as part of a global team with senior Stakeholder Management

  • Understanding of regulatory standards like BCBS, GDPR, etc.
