Security Weekend - Baylor Shift

Security Weekend shift: 3pm-8:00am Saturday and Sunday 16-hour shifts
Summary/Objective:
This position is primarily responsible for providing safety and security procedures to the residents and staff of the Carolina Meadows. A major emphasis of the position includes capacity to perform minor maintenance repairs. This position must be able to safely operate company vehicles.

Security and Safety Functions
1. Provides safety and security to residents, visitors and employees of Carolina Meadows.
• Patrols interior and exterior of the community; ensures all doors and windows are secure.
• Observes parking lot areas throughout campus to scan for unauthorized visitors. Escorts individuals off campus as requested and notifies authorities if necessary.
• Escorts staff or visitors from buildings to personal vehicles during the evening as requested.
• Ensures all areas of the community comply with the security, safety and fire requirements set by the state of North Carolina.
• Investigates all instances of property loss and any major incident; writes thorough report of findings.
• Maintains security logs to document all his or her activities.
• Conducts safety drills and assists fire and police officials in emergency situations.
• Directs others in the event of a disaster following Carolina Meadows’ Disaster Preparedness protocols.
• Responds to medical, fire and emergency calls immediately.
• Locks and unlocks specified doors on a routine basis as directed.
• Makes independent decisions on when to call medical emergency personnel, fire and/or Sheriff’s department.
• Reads fire alarm panel and identifies where the emergency alarm is coming from. Notifies the fire department of the location and secures the area from staff, residents and guest before authorities arrive. Resets panel when directed by fire department.
Maintenance Assistance
2. Assists in general maintenance duties, repairs or requests on a need be basis.
• Assumes the role of Maintenance Technician when requested.
• Handles simple maintenance repairs including light fixtures, HVAC basics, basic plumbing, etc.
• Aids in determining and resolving power outages throughout the community. Ensures light systems are working properly during the evening. Places work orders with Maintenance for repair.
• Removes snow during the winter; salts sidewalks and entrances throughout the community.
• Assists late night vendors or contractors when necessary.
• Aids and completes work orders from the previous shift as requested.
• Completes and signs off on work orders and returns to the Administrative Assistant. Tracks and logs all daily activities of maintenance and security.
