Surgical Technical Educator - Berkshire Medical Center, Clinical Education, Shift: Days, 40 hrs

Job Summary

The Surgical Technical Educator (STE), utilizing innovative and flexible solutions (including leveraging information technology and simulation to enhance and streamline education), evidence-based practice, and effective operations, is responsible for establishing an environment that transforms professional growth, role competence and proficiency in the Surgical specialty area. The STE is responsible for ensuring technical excellence in the theory and application of aseptic technique, surgical conscience, creation and maintenance of the surgical field, OR environment of care, patient safety, quality, culture of safety and leading the development of staff competence.

Experience

• Five years perioperative scrub experience required.
• Recent experience in Operating Room technology required.

Education

• Associates degree required.

License & Certifications

• LPNCST - Licensed Practical Nurse or Certified Surgical Technologist required.
• BLS required.

Additional Requirements

• Knowledge and application of surgical aseptic technique required.
• Familiarity with basic surgical procedures, instruments, equipment, physiology, microbiology, anatomy, and psychological process required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with evidence of accuracy.
• Demonstrated energy and enthusiasm required to motivate others toward change in a supportive manner.

Master Schedule:

8:00am-4:30pm
