Summary:

 

The Senior Program Manager leads the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple concurrent technical projects and higher-order programs of work, within the constraints of the ‘iron triangle’ of budget, features, and schedule. This includes managing the efforts of internal team members, external partners, and contractors/consultants. Projects include a range of technologies implemented via firmware, windows and mobile applications, cloud systems, as well as custom electronics and mechanical engineering. Programs are increasingly operating under an Agile methodology and Program Managers must be able to lead in the adoption of Agile best practices. Focus of this role is the design and delivery of Fujifilm Sonosite’s Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) systems and software.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensure projects stay on schedule and meet deadlines. Manage the schedule critical path and ensure steps are taken to keep projects on track.
  • Create software and hardware project budgets and ensure projects adhere to budget.
  • Drive consistent requirements, compliance, testing, and troubleshooting of projects in all stages of development.
  • Manage project change requests per established processes.
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project deliverables.
  • Manage product release content with key stakeholders and other product managers.
  • Define development milestones including entry and exit criteria.
  • Manage schedule interdependencies with all project teams.
  • Define, manage, and mitigate project risks.
  • Present regular project status reports/updates to executive management.
  • Track schedules and resources for assigned projects.
  • Monitor and enhance software development, troubleshooting, and QA process.
  • Liaise between company, customer, and third parties.
  • Define the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Work with functional managers for allocation of staff to your team.
  • Determine and assess the need for additional staff/consultants and make the appropriate recruitments.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Conduct project postmortems and create recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
  • Keep abreast of technical and product development trends in the evolving medical device space.
  • Scrum Facilitation: Lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Stand-Ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective. Ensure these meetings are effective, time-boxed, and focused on achieving sprint goals.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to the Scrum Team members and stakeholders in Agile principles and Scrum practices. Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Leadership: Act as a  leader, supporting the Scrum Team by removing impediments and protecting them from external disruptions, allowing them to focus on delivering value.
