Engineering Technician

The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle and Launch Services programs.

The selected candidate will perform the day-to-day operations of the Flight Vehicle and Ground Systems processing group supporting the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA) Artemis program. The candidate will support Launch Vehicle Processing, Testing and Validation of flight and ground systems. 

Being an Engineering Technician means:

·       Support Launch Vehicle Processing;

·       Testing and Validation of Artemis flight hardware and associated ground systems;

·       Interpret engineer drawings;

·       Abide by stringent work area rules and safety protocols;

·       Must be able to pass a SCAPE Physical;

·       Maintain a security clearance;

·       Must be able to support shift work, weekends and reasonable overtime as required.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and one year of related experience or equivalent technical training.

A mechanical and/ or electrical background in aviation or aerospace fields is highly desirable. 

Must be able to follow work instructions, interpret engineer drawings and follow stringent work area rules and safety protocols.

Excellent communication skills are required.

Some experience in Microsoft Office Products (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Etc.) is required.

Must be able to pass a SCAPE Physical and maintain a security clearance.

Must be able to support shift work, weekends and reasonable overtime when required.
