We are looking for a Vice President of Technical Project Management | Portfolio Planning & Delivery who will serve as the critical orchestrator across technical operations, product, finance, and operations. This role is for a courageous, detail-oriented leader who thrives in complexity—someone who anticipates risks before they happen, pressures plans to ensure accountability, and fosters alignment across multiple business and technical domains.
What You’ll Do
• Lead End-to-End Portfolio Planning & Delivery: Drive the planning, scoping, and delivery of software development, IT operations, CloudOps, platform engineering, security, and enterprise architecture initiatives.
• Unify Business & Technology: Partner with Product and Operations to create integrated roadmaps balancing customer impact, financial discipline, and organizational capacity.
• Anticipate Risks & Pressure-Test Plans: Identify potential pitfalls across deployment, security, budget, and talent, ensuring proactive mitigation strategies.
• Drive Accountability: Hold Product, Operations, and technical leaders accountable for commitments—without direct authority—through influence, alignment, and collaboration.
• Optimize Performance: Establish KPIs and dashboards to track success across technical and business outcomes.
• Break Down Silos: Foster transparency and shared accountability across departments, ensuring technical delivery directly supports business goals.
• Champion Excellence: Promote best practices in cross-functional collaboration, financial stewardship, and agile technical execution.
What We’re Looking For
• 10+ years of leadership experience in technical project or portfolio management across multiple domains (software development, infrastructure, security, cloud). Prior VP or senior leadership experience required.
• Proven success partnering with Product and Operations leaders to align technology delivery with business objectives.
• Strong fluency in multi-domain technical environments (SDLC, DevOps, IT Ops, Cloud platforms like AWS/Azure/GCP, and security frameworks).
• Demonstrated ability to integrate business and technology, balancing investment priorities with operational needs, financial constraints, and workforce availability.
• Courageous, detail-oriented leadership style with the ability to hold cross-functional leaders accountable.
• Exceptional communicator, skilled at translating between executive leadership, business functions, and technical teams.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• Preferred certifications: PMP, Agile/Scrum Master, Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), CISSP/CISM.
Nice to Have
• Experience in high-growth, PE-backed businesses where technical execution drives enterprise value.
• Background in life sciences, pharma, or biotech, particularly regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with emerging technologies (AI/ML, serverless architectures, zero-trust security).
• Strong change management and organizational transformation experience.
