Job Description:
The Strategic Launch Manager is responsible for orchestrating HPE’s most critical market moments—ensuring launches are strategically grounded, narratively powerful, and executed with confidence across the GTM engine. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, story, and activation, bringing together product marketing, GTM, communications, sales, and partners to deliver launches that make markets and move markets.
This is a hands-on marketing leadership role. The Strategic Launch Manager personally shapes launch strategy, narrative, and messaging for Tier 1 launches while also guiding execution across a team of launch managers supported by a launch coordinator. The role exists to elevate how HPE launches—shifting from fragmented announcements to fewer, bigger, better market moments with aligned activation across all channels.
Launch themes and narratives will often reinforce HPE’s market megatrends and Customer Acceleration Plays, but the scope is broader: this role spans the full HPE portfolio and ecosystem, including products, services, solutions, and partners. Success is measured by launch impact, clarity, readiness, and alignment—driving awareness, consideration, engagement, and early demand while enabling confident execution from day one.
Responsibilities
- Lead launch strategy, narrative, and activation for Tier 1, enterprise-impact launches, including those tied to major HPE and third-party industry events.
- Establish and evolve HPE’s launch operating model, including intake, prioritization, readiness standards, and execution frameworks.
- Define launch narratives that align HPE’s offerings to market context, competitive dynamics, and customer priorities—ensuring strong first impressions and clear positioning.
- Orchestrate cross-functional execution across product marketing, GTM, communications, sales, partners, and services to deliver cohesive market moments.
- Partner closely with Product and Solutions Marketing, GTM Strategy, and Communications teams to align launch strategy with portfolio priorities and enterprise storytelling.
- Ensure launch readiness across all GTM channels, making clear recommendations on launch timing, risks, and gaps based on established criteria.
- Enable scalable activation by equipping field, partners, and marketing teams with clear guidance, assets, and confidence to engage customers immediately.
- Measure and optimize launch impact, focusing on awareness, engagement, sentiment, and early pipeline indicators.
- Lead and develop launch managers, fostering a culture of strategic thinking, execution excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Drive ongoing improvements to launch efficiency, clarity, and impact across HPE’s portfolio.
Knowledge and Skills
- Deep expertise in B2B enterprise marketing, GTM strategy, and launch leadership.
- Strong strategic storytelling and messaging skills, with the ability to translate complex portfolios into clear market narratives.
- Proven experience leading high-stakes, cross-functional launches in matrixed environments.
- Ability to balance hands-on strategic contribution with team leadership and orchestration.
- Excellent project and program management skills in fast-paced, high-visibility contexts.
- Strong executive presence and communication skills, including comfort influencing without direct authority.
- Demonstrated ability to align diverse stakeholders and resolve ambiguity with clarity and confidence.
- Passion for raising the bar on marketing impact, not just process compliance.
