Overview

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Group Manager, supporting TOS II, at Arnold AFB in Tullahoma, Tennessee. The Deputy Group Manager will be working as a member of an integrated team assisting the Group Manager and responsible for [e.g. operating and maintaining or supporting] the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

Job Summary

The successful candidate must have the ability to drive the change necessary to ensure the long-term viability of the Complex while ensuring mission success; no impact to customers, no loss in date quality, and no reduction is productive test time – ultimately securing AEDC’s long-term future and world-class superiority in Aerospace and Flight Testing.  

             

Job Duties:

  • Serves as the Visible Leader for the Manufacturing Shop providing guidance to Engineering, Craft, Planners and Supervisors
  • Serves as Assistant CAM on AF Projects for Manufacturing
  • Assists Group Manager on Strategic Shop and Lab Plan
  • Provides input to Group Manager on all Manufacturing and Precision Inspection Processes
  • Helps create, review, and monitor metrics, and influences and changes processes
  • Provides input concerning trade-space decision on in-house and outsourced work
  • Responsible for Craft/BHN compliance to the CBA
  • Supports Safety Program (Back-up Lead on SLC)
  • Primary personnel interface
  • Approves or delegates approval for salaried employee timecards
  • Supports hiring decision
  • Support discipline actions
  • Clarifies roles and responsibilities for Management Team
  • Supports Machine Maintenance Program/Process
  • Provides input on Manufacturing Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions
  • Provides input on maintaining cost, schedule, and quality of customer projects
  • Assists and provides input on workload and resource forecasting
  • Provides input on Monthly CDRL reporting
  • It is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, physics, engineering or business with 8 years of progressive and relevant experience including leading a diverse organization composed of Craft and Salaried personnel. Additional education can be submitted for experience.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations, maintenance and sustainment activities
  • Knowledge of fabrication, manufacturing, precision machining, and heavy construction
  • Knowledge and demonstrated practice of related safety measures
  • Skilled at personnel relationships and written and oral communication
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and the AEDC local area network
  • Current U. S. Citizenship required
