Job Description
The Retail Region Manager is responsible for driving profitability along with the development and growth of the organization. The Regional Manager oversees operations for assigned retail districts, coordinates activities, and develops the professional abilities of all members of their retail team. This position is responsible for all financial reports, metrics, and standards, and enforcing company policies and procedures to meet the needs of our customers.
Essential Duties:
- Operational oversight of Retail Stores and Retread Plant in assigned Region; includes management of Retail Store Managers, Commercial Sales Team, Service Department, Retread Plant Manager and Retread personnel.
- Direct sales group in achieving sales and profit goals by ensuring proactive solicitation of customer business opportunities, practicing sound portfolio management, providing proper support for existing accounts and identifying growth opportunities and directing new business solicitation.
- Manage people by directing and coaching. Attract, retain and motivate field personnel to support the long -term stability and growth of the company and to promote effective participation of team in relation to corporate objectives.
- Work closely with National Sales Operations to implement pricing strategies and facilitate price and mix improvements within each store location.
- Establish and maintain processes and procedures for all daily functions involving the operating system including inventory management, receiving and delivery processing, business computer systems, and customer interaction.
- Responsible for the overall production and distribution of product processing through at least one Retread Plant in your region. Ultimately responsible for quality control of all manufacturing in the plant.
- Responsible for inventory control and management within the region, including timely forecasting to assure product availability.
- Manage the BestDrive locations P&L to generate profit to Continental.
- Address the strategic and tactical needs of the organization and implement the necessary changes. Understand financial reporting and have the ability to quantify business needs, costs/budgets, and economic earnings.
- Control Regional expense budgets and assure that all territory records are maintained in an accurate and current manner. Monitor and analyze business on a continuous basis and implement any corrective action.
- Manage all safety, health and environmental processes by conducting safety huddles, leading by safety first, and reporting and sending all required paperwork for any injuries and accidents to management.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s license
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of professional sales experience
- or 10+ years of professional sales experience and HS diploma or equivalent
- Experience managing and leading people and/or projects

Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years’ experience in the tire industry
- 5+ years’ experience managing and leading people
- Retread tire knowledge

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work hours are generally 7-5 Monday – Friday. Saturday and evenings as needed; may have little to no advance notice.
- This position operates in all types of indoor and outdoor work environments, therefore exposure to heat and cold is to be expected.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, climb, lift, and walk.
- Required to handle hazardous materials and wear various forms of protective equipment (safety shoes, gloves, protective eyewear, etc.). Comply with OSHA regulations and safety requirements.
- Required to lift 50-75 lbs. routinely; may be required to occasionally lift up to 100 lbs. individually.
