The Portfolio Enablement team works to align IT Strategy with Business Strategy. Critical functions for the team include supporting the idea/project intake processes and facilitating the forecasts of capital, human resources, and infrastructure needed to support the evolving project portfolio. The team works with project portfolio tools and capacity reporting to provide insights and orchestrate the broader portfolio to maximize implementation delivery.
As the Manager of Portfolio Practice Management & Capacity, you will play a critical part of the Portfolio Enablement team and will be responsible for the oversight and administration of IT capacity alignment and IT PMO Practice Management. You will manage the capacity review / reporting and provide methods and monitoring of PMO practice management leveraged by the Portfolio Delivery teams. This includes recognizing and avoiding portfolio capacity issues across the lifecycle of the project delivery. This is a subset of the overall responsibilities which will include multiple initiatives as assigned by IT leadership.
This role is hybrid (Tue through Thu on-site) for candidates in the Kansas City metropolitan area and open to qualified remote candidates outside of the Kansas City area but only within the US.
How you’ll spend your time:
- Improve the current project delivery methodologies to support repeatable PMO activities and deliverables that align to the regulatory and UMB defined SDLC controls that ensure quality, security, and delivery effectiveness.
- Create user adoption deliverables and repeatable training methods to encourage alignment to the defined processes, focusing on efficiency gains of using PMO technology.
- Monitor the quality of project outputs to ensure strategic objectives and project delivery quality are met.
- Provide adherence methods and monitoring to ensure projects are well managed and aligning to appropriate standards and the defined practice.
- Increase maturity of broader IT governance by creating cohesive processes across technology functions.
- Craft proactive capacity reporting and analysis to identify and work to resolve upcoming capacity issues that would cause disruptions to milestones or implementation delivery of the portfolio.
- Drive portfolio delivery excellence by creating a cohesive portfolio plan that proactively drives to meet the time, scope, and quality while working closely with Business & Technology Planning, Portfolio Managers, and IT Directors to drive initiatives through process and extend leadership including driving decisions.
- Identify and resolve capacity concerns that may lead to project portfolio delivery issues via impact analysis and change control methodologies.
- Work closely with leadership teams, portfolio management teams and technical managers to improve the collection and maintenance of the time reporting and resource forecast information within the portfolio.
- Work with portfolio delivery leaders to recalibrate the portfolio as necessary when demands of the business dictate a change in delivery or scope.
- Provide full IT portfolio metric reporting and visualization to support communication of IT delivery commitments. These metrics/reporting will be used to measure the health and maturity growth of PMO.
- Management of a user adoption, reporting, and practice management definition team.

- Ensure compliance to corporate policy, technology policy, regulatory guidance and regulations.

- You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
- You have at least 10 years of relevant work experience in IT portfolio or program.
- You have demonstrated competency in creating effective reporting, executive communications, and user adoption / process documentation.
- You have proven competency in developing and managing complex project plans, timelines, budgets, and critical paths.
- You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex messages to a wide audience.
Bonus Points If:
- You have banking or financial services industry experience.
- You have experience with ServiceNow SPM module and SharePoint.

Compensation Range:
$99,750.00 - $214,370.00The posted compensation
