Duties 

  • Leads and executes detailed planning of maintenance activities to maximize the efficiency of the maintenance plan and increase availability of department assets.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives through Reliability Centered Maintenance and Predictive/Preventative Maintenance.
  • Manages design and development of maintenance processes, equipment, and systems.
  • Plans, leads, and realizes maintenance projects.
  • Delivers and/or updates preventative maintenance plans, documentation, training/work instructions, and spare parts.
  • Creates and manages master data (functional location structure and Bill of Material) Analyzes equipment availability through data analysis and adjusts maintenance schedules accordingly in SAP.
  • Establishes and maintains equipment parts catalog, equipment history, inventory, and parts min/max levels. Identifies operational cost of equipment and implements measures to reduce costs where possible.
  • Leads the planning of maintenance cost forecasting based on future needs, obsolescence, and changes to equipment standards. Leads planning for technical equipment to optimize time, quality, and cost.
  • Identifies root cause failure analysis, leads investigations for permanent solutions, and implements sustainable changes to the processes.
  • Leads, evaluates, and coordinates potential suppliers, RFQ process (for projects, equipment, and services), technical recommendations, acceptance of equipment from suppliers, and hand-over to operations.
  • Provides information on BMW standards to suppliers commissioned for implementation.
  • Develops and defines new equipment preventative maintenance plans/concepts through collaboration with structure planning and/or suppliers. Ensures all equipment installations and modifications comply with BMW Group and Plant Standards and Specifications.
  • Writes applicable procedures that promote defect-free maintenance work quality.
  • Collaborates with structure planning and suppliers to create hazard analyses and risk assessment for processes, equipment, and systems. Develops measures and concepts for further development and stabilization of existing maintenance processes (i.e. future maintenance strategy, training contents, implementation systems and tools).
  • Develops and improves reporting systems to increase planning effectiveness.
  • Specifies the full extent of maintenance work needed to conduct the relevant repair/preventative/predictive activities on the equipment.
  • Ensures all assigned maintenance projects are on schedule and at or under approved budget. Manages compliance requirement for Health & Safety, Environmental & Quality systems, as well as Information Protection, Data Security and Product Conformity.
  • Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work.
  • Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

 

Requirements 

  • BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical preferred) OR AS degree in a technical field (Maintenance preferred) AND 2 years of professional experience in Industrial Manufacturing Maintenance OR The equivalent of 4 years of professional experience in Industrial Manufacturing Maintenance.
  • 5+ years of professional Industrial Manufacturing Maintenance experience (automotive preferred).
  • 5+ years of project management or process planning experience.
  • 5+ years of MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Access).
  • 5+ years of professional communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
  • 5+ years of problem solving, data analysis, and continuous improvement skills.
  • 5+ years of SAP Plant Maintenance or equivalent CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) skills.
  • 5+ years knowledge of equipment reliability concepts, quality management methods, and technical drawing and specifications.
  • 5+ years of risk management strategy and practices related to Plant and equipment skills.
  • 5+ years understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance concepts.
  • 3+ years of general automation and equipment knowledge.
