Position Scope/Summary
Provides guidance, direction and assistance to the patient care staff in order to attain/maintain optimum quality of care to patients in a designated clinical area. Serves as a expert clinician who consistently demonstrates excellence in all areas of nursing practice: nursing care delivery, staff education, research, collaboration with other disciplines and unit development activities. Responsible for providing and facilitating staff in the provision of direct and indirect care of patients and families. Manages complex, unpredictable patient care situations, and consulting and collaborating with all members of the health care team. Through their expertise they serve as a role model and resource for patient care staff within the unit/department/institution and community. Position located at University Hospitals.

Minimum Education Required
Master's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in Nursing
 

Required Qualifications
Current Ohio RN license and Ohio Certificate of Authority as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. Master's degree in nursing, clinical specialty major preferred. Significant clinical nursing experience relevant to psycho/social practice.
