DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY
To work cross-functionally across all company departments and product lines to produce cutting-edge product concepts and design solutions with a focus on aesthetics, functionality, ergonomics, and usability
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
•Collaborate daily with Research & Development (R&D) Engineering and Product Management teams to develop new products
•Collaborate with multiple departments including but not limited to Marketing, Sales, and Manufacturing on concept generation and evaluation
•Responsible for the aesthetics and ergonomics of new products
•Produce physical models for hands-on evaluation
•Produce computer models of concept designs for presentation, prototyping and production
•Design production-ready CAD models for various manufacturing methods including injection molding, casting, and carbon fiber processes
•Design CAD models for concept evaluation using various rapid prototyping techniques including additive manufacturing
•Collaborate on parts engineering by providing input on A-side and B-side geometry
•Create sketches, models, renderings and other relevant presentation materials
•Proactively conduct consumer research
•Mentor Junior Industrial Designers
•Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management
•Complete the Annual CTPAT Security Training
•Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
•Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations
•Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary

•Travel domestically and internationally as needed
Must have:
•Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement
•Exceptional design, sketching and ideation skills with clear visual communication
•Intermediate working knowledge of Class-A CAD Surface Modeling with SolidWorks or similar parametric modeling software
•Intermediate working knowledge of Top-Down CAD modeling with SolidWorks or similar parametric modeling software
•Intermediate working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign or similar software
•Intermediate working knowledge of 3D rendering in KeyShot, Blender, or similar software
•Intermediate mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical engineering principles
•Intermediate knowledge of injection molding, casting, or similar molded part design
•Intermediate knowledge of industrial design methods
•Constant and keen awareness of the latest industrial design trends and manufacturing processes and techniques
•Basic understanding of production and manufacturing processes
•Intermediate model making/shop skills
•Excellent consumer research skills
•Excellent time management skills
•Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
•Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
•A portfolio of industrial design work
PREFERRED SKILLS
•Ability to perform usability-testing on a range of concepts and prototypes with consumers, technicians, and dealers to validate findings with new concept directions and modifications preferred
•Competitive research skills preferred
•Lift/push/pull 40lbs. preferred
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
•At least 1 year of experience as an Industrial Designer at Pride Mobility Products Corporation, OR at least 3 years of design experience in an industrial design or R&D environment supporting design, manufacturing and technical processes
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
•At least 5 years of design experience in an industrial design or R&D environment supporting design, manufacturing and technical processes preferred
•At least 1 year of experience
