ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Manager, Reclamation Projects, is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects
according to strict deadlines and within budget for assigned activities within an engineering project. Applies
broad and diversified knowledge of engineering and construction principles and practices to project
engineering in the preparation of complex engineering analyses. Makes decisions independently concerning
problems within the project. The Senior Manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee from
inception to execution. Represents the Company on the project and with the client to resolve technical
questions and to coordinate work.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Plans, develops, coordinate and reviews complex engineering work within the project. Coordinates and interfaces with the day-to-day technical work of internal & external engineers.
- Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Manages all project bids (RFQs) as needed and required.
- Manages technical discussions with third parties (client, suppliers, and regulators) to facilitate appropriate technical decisions, resolve project issues and propose solutions to help meet deadlines and monitor related job costs.
- Prepares or oversees the preparation of estimates and work plan in accordance with projects scope, schedule and budget and manages implementation and performance accordingly.
- Reviews significant bid summaries, major drawings and staffing estimates and schedules. Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
- Project management of all contracts either awarded or assigned to the incumbent including attending site meetings, identifying and pricing work extra to the contract, coordinating and scheduling the project with the customer, invoicing, collections, and resolving any disputes involving the customer and any other third parties.
- Develop and control the full project-plan lifecycle
- Assist in developing capital budget annually and provide weekly feedback on project timeline and cost management
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety, and, environmental policies in all work environments and areas.Verify contract documents and blueprints for accuracy and project materials.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering and minimum of 7 years of equivalent experience
Additional Education Preferred: Geotechnical, Project Management
Field of Study Preferred: Mining, Civil
Travel Requirements: Travel within Colorado
Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
