The Opportunity

CZ Biohub San Francisco is looking for a Staff Accountant to assist in the day-to-day support of the Finance function operations and the monthly financial close. As a Staff Accountant, you will play an important role in our financial close process by preparing journal entries and reconciliations as well as handle a variety of general accounting tasks which include but are not limited to accounts payables, accounts receivables and fixed assets.

The position will be based in San Francisco, CA either on a hybrid or on-site basis.

You will

• Perform month end close activities, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned areas that may include cash, accruals, and prepaid expenses
• Prepare billings to affiliates and other third parties for reimbursements
• Serve as backup for accounts payable function
  • Process vendor invoices on a timely basis including obtaining the required approvals
  • Prepare batches for payment runs
• Process expense reports in Concur; may be responsible for processing corporate credit card expense reports and reconciliation
• Resolve discrepancies and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items
• Work on ad hoc projects, such as improving procedures, automating processes and researching accounting topics
• Perform other duties as required

You have

Essential –

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or business or equivalent work experience
• 4-5 years of general accounting and accounts payable experience
• Knowledge of accounting principles and standards, including solid understanding of accruals and prepaids
• Strong Excel skills to support month-end close and ad hoc analyses
• Coupa and NetSuite system experience
• Excellent analytical skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritize duties to meet deadlines with limited supervision
• Outstanding attention to detail, accuracy, and procedures
• Be highly organized, process and detail-oriented, and possess ability to write and communicate effectively.

Nice to have -

• Biotech or research organization background
• Prior experience with SOX compliance

Compensation

• $92,000 - $126,500
