Job Summary:

As a Lead Certified Peer Specialist, you will promote self-directed progress and support crisis care plans, making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. Your unique perspective and lived experience will empower clients to embrace recovery skills and self-care, fostering an environment of unconditional positive regard and non-judgment. You will also assist with onboarding, training, and continuing education, supporting our managers and director in achieving organizational goals.
In this role, you will be instrumental in guiding clients through their recovery journey, utilizing your knowledge of community resources to help them build a supportive network. Your ability to model effective recovery behaviors and teach coping skills will be essential in promoting independence and proactive involvement in treatment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate in accordance with the system's Operational Guidelines and within your professional Code of Ethics and Scope of Practice.
- Provide practical role modeling and utilize personal experience to benefit clients.
- Implement guidelines, procedures, and program rules effectively.
- Promote coping skills for managing substance use disorders and mental health symptoms.
- Share lived experiences of recovery positively and demonstrate the use of recovery tools.
- Maintain and leverage knowledge of community resources to assist clients in developing a supportive network.
- Assist clients in identifying strengths and resources to achieve self-directed recovery goals.
- Teach and model symptom management and problem-solving skills.
- Document interventions and client progress promptly using the electronic health record.
- Provide transportation as clinically appropriate in line with company and program guidelines.
- Lead and support training and education to maintain industry standards.
- Assist with chart audits and review progress summaries to improve services.
- Maintain scheduling calendar within the peer discipline in collaboration with leadership.
- Assist with data entry and integrity management.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Certified Peer Specialist in the state of practice required.
- One year of experience working in the field; additional experience preferred.
- Lived experience with both mental health and substance use preferred.
Additional Qualifications:
- Successful completion of all mandatory continuing education to maintain certification, including CPR, First Aid, and CPI Training.
- Ability to establish effective relationships and handle crisis assessment and intervention.
- Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance.
Physical Requirements:
- ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, or pull objects.
- Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.
