Join our Strategic Planning and Architecture (SPARC) team within Microsoft’s Azure Hardware Systems & Infrastructure (AHSI) organization and be a part of the organization behind Microsoft’s expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft’s “Intelligent Cloud” mission.   

Microsoft delivers more than 200 online services to more than one billion individuals worldwide and AHSI is the team behind our expanding cloud infrastructure. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's cloud businesses including Microsoft Azure, Bing, MSN, Office 365, OneDrive, Skype, Teams and Xbox Live.  

The SPARC organization manages Azure’s hardware roadmap from architecture concept through production for all of Microsoft’s current and future on-line services. You will be involved with all phases of product development, from design through manufacturing and supply chain, and into high scale deployment.  You’ll work closely with our engineers and architects, and also our peer teams (including Azure Core, Azure Security, and SCHIE) to plan and deliver solutions into the fleet leveraging well-known processes we’ve used to deliver new capabilities into Azure.  

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our team! 

Responsibilities 

• Engage with Microsoft cloud business units to define future hardware platform and system requirements and align recommendations for executive approval. 

• Define and own platform roadmap and strategy that spans across concept, POR, qualification, launch and scale 

• Drive crossorg alignment through interlocks with members from various business units including software and hardware engineering and architecture, networking, datacenter infrastructure, finance, and supply chain management - to build data-driven strategic frameworks for decision making 

• Identify and mitigate platform, schedule, and dependency risks early; drive tradeoff decisions with clarity and data.  

• Define success metrics and track execution against committed milestones. 

Minimum qualifications 

• Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product management OR equivalent experience.

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.  

Preferred qualifications 

• Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
• Deep understanding of key technologies/ingredients such as Microprocessors, Memory, Storage, Networking, offload engines and/or accelerators 
• Prior expereince in Product Planning, Product Management or Strategic Planning experience in Data Center, Cloud Infrastructure or Computer Architecture domain 
• Deep understanding or prior experience in datacenter compute, storage or networking architecture 
• Ability to map workload requirements to the right infrastructure solutions 
• Understanding of how computecentric workloads are transforming due to AI (training/inferencing) 
• Ability to balance between technology, business, and strategy to inform roadmap decisions. 
• Ability to drive alignment across stakeholders and influence cross-functional leadership to converge on decisions/recommendations that lead to tangibl
