Job Summary

As a Nutrition Lab Technician for Morrison Healthcare at Mayo Clinic, you will be collaborating with the team on the preparation, storage, and delivery of formula and human milk for infant, pediatric, and adult patients. This is an intermediate level opportunity for individuals interested in healthcare, nutrition, or pediatrics with room to grow within the department and other service areas at a prestigious medical facility. Training will be provided.

 

Work Schedule:
•    Full Time (30-40 hours/week) 
•    8 hour and 10 hour shifts available
•    Hours variable from 6:45 am to 6:30 pm
•    Every other weekend and holiday rotation required

 

Preferred Education: Prior education and/or experience is required. A wide variety of backgrounds are accepted, for example:
•    Nutrition and Dietetic Technician, Registered (NDTR) OR 
•    Pharmacy Technician certification OR
•    Associate degree or higher in applied science OR 
•    Students pursuing bachelor’s degree in applied science with 2+ years of completed education

•    Time management and multitasking in daily work
•    Comfort with learning new technology and computer system

 

Day to Day Job:
•    Collaborate with nurses, registered dietitians, and other care team members regarding human milk and formula orders
•    Prepare human milk and formula accurately using established recipes and sanitation procedures
•    Learn how to calculate human milk recipes based on desired volume
•    Interpret prescribed diet orders and verify using electronic medical records
•    Navigate computer software to print labels and production lists
•    Identify and label formula and human milk
•    Deliver prepared feedings throughout the hospital
•    Clean and sanitize equipment and workspaces
•    Check in products and monitor inventory levels and expiration dates
