Position Summary

This role is responsible for maintaining financial records by accurately entering data into manufacturing/accounting software system(s), processing invoices and payments, and ensuring proper filing systems are maintained, all while adhering to company accounting procedures and standards; essentially providing general administrative support to the finance and accounting teams. As needed, the following may also be requested: reconciling bank statements, journal entries, general ledger maintenance, preparing financial reports. 

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Data entry: Accurately inputting financial transactions, including amounts, dates, and codes into accounting software. 
• Invoice processing: Reviewing and processing incoming invoices, verifying accuracy, and coding them for payment. 
• Accounts payable/receivable: Maintaining records of accounts payable and receivable, including sending invoices to customers and tracking payments. 
• Collections: Contacting and collecting funds owed to the company.
• Bank statement reconciliation: Comparing bank statements to internal records to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies. 
• Financial reporting: Preparing basic financial reports and summaries based on accounting data. 
• Record keeping: Maintaining organized filing systems for all financial documents, including invoices, receipts, and bank statements. 
• General ledger maintenance: Posting journal entries to the general ledger. 
• Data integrity: Auditing and verifying information provided (i.e. inventory levels).
• Communications: Assist with vendor and customer communications. 

Requirements and Prerequisites:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business; or related experience
• 2 - 5 years experience in accounting
• Manufacturing experience desired but not required
• Experience with Net Suite a plus
• Experience with Account Mates a plus
