Job Summary

Places for People is seeking a licensed clinician to be the Clinical Supervisor of the Youth and Family Services Intake Team. Primary responsibilities include completing behavioral health and psychosocial assessments with youth under 18 years of age, determining diagnoses as indicated and appropriate, and helping to connect children and youth to the most appropriate level of care and evidence-based practice to match family strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences. 

The Clinical Supervisor also leads a professional team to provide initial behavioral health screenings, outreach, and enrollment into services that are welcoming, trauma-informed, and promotes access to services for youth and caregivers. Excellent assessment skills required including consideration of co-occurring developmental disabilities and substance use. Candidates must have a history of effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and value partnerships with other community members to promote the well-being of children and families.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical supervision and administrative oversight for Intake and Outreach Specialists and Youth Behavioral Health Liaisons
• Collaboratively identify strengths, treatment needs, preferences, and the existing supports of youth and caregivers
• Use standardized measures to assess youth functioning including mental health, physical health, substance use, employment, housing, and skills in areas such as socialization, problem solving, coping, money management, and time management.
• Develop a diagnostic impression through face-to-face clinical interviews with youth and caregivers, use of standardized assessments and screening tools, and review of records shared by the caregivers.
• Supervise the completion of all required admission screenings and enrollment processes.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of the DSM and familiarity with the diagnostic criteria for substance use and mental health disorders for children, adolescents, and young adults.
• Complete a psychosocial assessment and develop an initial treatment plan with youth and caregivers based on initial impressions and persons stated priorities.  
• Facilitate successful transition of care from Intake to receiving programs/teams.
• Coordinate correspondence with other agencies to facilitate access to care.
• Consult with supervisor and the Quality Assurance Committee in the development, implementation and evaluation of peer review and other quality assurance activities and procedures.
• Maintain quality assurance records and files according to agency certification and accreditation requirements.
• Monitor clinical documentation to ensure completeness and timeliness of records, and compliance with standards of care and requirements of accrediting/funding entities.
