About the Team:

Building a world where people can safely discover, create and connect. The Trust & Safety (T&S) team at TikTok helps ensure that our global online community is safe and empowered to create and enjoy content across all of our applications. We have invested heavily in human and machine-based moderation to remove harmful content quickly and often before it reaches our general community.



The Emergency Response Team takes on a two-pronged approach to ensure the platform is safe for consumption by not only reacting to emergent situations, but also taking a proactive stance on investigation related matters. The team acts as a vital bridge between teams, coordinating and managing unexpected risks and ensuring internal escalations are handled accordingly.



It is possible that this role will be exposed to harmful content as part of the core role/as part of project/ in response to escalation requests/by chance. This may occur in the form of images, video, and text related to every-day life, but it can also include (but is not limited to) bullying; hate speech; child safety; depictions of harm to self and others, and harm to animals.



Responsibilities:

- You will review and assess high volumes of inbound emergency escalations and make dynamic, fast paced decisions based on analysis of a variety of complex factors whilst adhering to applicable laws, terms of service and internal policies;

- You will leverage your ability to enhance emergency response mechanisms by monitoring and improving reactive speed and quality for effective implementation of action plans;

- You will master various back-end data systems to ensure safety issues are handled effectively;

- You will summarize and compile analytical, retrospective or data-type investigation related reports;

- You will lead projects to proactively improve the quality of back-end systems and processes;

- You will collaborate with global cross-functional teams to respond to issues, and communicate with relevant stakeholders to align on strategies;

- You will participate in rotational weekend duty and demonstrate flexibility with regard to possible alternative schedules.
