Pay Range

$218,700 - $332,772 Annually

$218,700 - $277,344 Annually For the SEL.4 Level

$262,410 - $332,772 Annually for the SEL.5 Level

Job Description

We have an opening for a Flight Performance Integration (FPI) Future Deterrent Production Leader to oversee development processes and resources to ensure efficient, sustainable, and verifiable product delivery within the Weapon Technologies and Engineering (WTE) Program. You will provide oversight of technical implementation of FPI software tools, interface to internal and external stakeholders to define needed capabilities, oversee software quality assurance, and work with the WTE Associate Program Division Leader to determine long-term strategic vision. You will also be involved in building collaborations with internal and external projects to enhance the mission of delivering high-quality products to our customers. 

This position will be filled at either level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.

You will

  • Lead a team of 10+ software developers and engineers with diverse technical backgrounds to develop a highly complex flight modeling suite.
  • Manage many parallel tasks requiring the resolution of conflicting work requirements and the prioritization of tasks to meet pre-determined targets.
  • Develop and drive the strategy for FPI code production, ensuring alignment of code architecture, technical features, and user experience to achieve project goals and support the long-term vision.
  • Collaborate with the WTE APD and FPI Mission Delivery Leader to align project vision, priorities, and strategies, ensuring a unified roadmap and consistent coordination across teams.
  • Coordinate with FPI Mission Delivery Leader for monthly reporting to WTE on budget, risks, progress, accomplishments, and ongoing work with FPI while balancing time and budget constraints.
  • Guide prioritization and execution of design, development, testing, and implementation phases, incorporating customer input.
  • Drive workflow and process improvements, including automation to reduce manual efforts across teams.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement, ensuring clear communication of requirements, schedules, and project updates.
  • Organize and participate in technical reviews, product working groups, and division-level discussions.
  • Collaborate with NA-115 portfolio leaders and Strategic Deterrence (SD) system stakeholders to determine strategies and to enable advanced capabilities to support current and future deterrence capabilities.
  • Promote team culture and professional growth through activities, training, and recognition.
  • Represent and advocate for FPI Sora and analysis capabilities to attract and expand the internal and external customer base.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional job responsibilities, at the SEL.5 level

  • Determine, build, and deliver strategic planning efforts and succession planning on long range goals.
  • Influence strategic technical decisions made by senior management and external customers based on technical expertise.
  • Serve as an organizational spokesperson and senior technical expert for Laboratory management and/or as an external advisor for customers and sponsors.

Qualifications

  • This position requires an active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or active Top Secret clearance issued by another U.S. government agency at the time of hire. 
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or the equivalent combination of education and related experience.
