Position Summary
Texas Regional Physicians is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Radiologist with subspecialty expertise in Musculoskeletal (MSK) Radiology and/or Interventional Radiology (IR) to join our growing team in Houston, Texas. The successful candidate will provide expert diagnostic interpretation of musculoskeletal imaging studies and/or perform image-guided minimally invasive procedures, depending on area of subspecialty focus. This role offers a mix of diagnostic reading, procedural work, and consultative collaboration with referring physicians across TRP's network of hospital and outpatient imaging sites.
Key Responsibilities
• Interpret musculoskeletal imaging studies, including X-ray, MRI, CT, and ultrasound, for trauma, sports injuries, degenerative disease, and oncologic conditions (MSK track).
• Perform image-guided musculoskeletal procedures such as joint injections, aspirations, and biopsies, as applicable.
• Perform minimally invasive, image-guided interventional procedures including vascular access, angiography, embolization, biopsies, drainages, and ablations (IR track).
• Provide pre- and post-procedure consultation, including risk assessment and follow-up care coordination for IR patients.
• Deliver timely, accurate diagnostic reports and communicate critical findings to referring physicians in accordance with TRP protocols.
• Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, oncologists, primary care physicians, and other specialists to guide diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards, case conferences, and quality review as applicable.
• Maintain compliance with ACR imaging standards, radiation safety protocols, and TRP clinical guidelines.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergent imaging and/or procedural coverage as assigned.
• Supervise and collaborate with radiology technologists, physician assistants, and trainees as applicable.
• Engage in ongoing quality improvement, peer review, and departmental initiatives.
Requirements
Qualifications
• M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency program.
• Fellowship training in Musculoskeletal Radiology and/or Interventional Radiology required.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Radiology (ABR); CAQ in Interventional Radiology preferred for IR candidates.
• Active, unrestricted Texas medical license (or eligibility to obtain one prior to start date).
• Current DEA registration.
• Eligibility for hospital privileges at TRP-affiliated facilities in the Houston area.
• Strong diagnostic acuity and, for IR candidates, proficient procedural/technical skill in image-guided interventions.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with referring physicians and multidisciplinary care teams.
