Onsite Sr. Lab Associate

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the Onsite Manager and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

What we’re looking for 

Education: High school diploma or GED required; associates degree or BA/BS Degree in science preferred 

Experience:

• 3 -5 years equivalent experience in a laboratory setting and understanding of laboratory equipment and/or college degree 

• Excellent knowledge of production and manufacturing environment. 

• Knowledgeable of biological/pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment. 

• Excellent time management, communication, and organization skills 

• Experience with LCMS and NMR equipment

Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Teams experience preferred

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

In this role you will:

• Prepare buffers, solutions, and media, following procedures

• Operate and maintain balances, pH meters, stir plates, filtration equipment and autoclaves

• Stocking and inventory of POU and other lab locations, lab materials, as well as chemicals, enter data into data base, arrange chemicals, ensure chemists have materials as requested/needed

• Support cell culture operations, glass wash, lab ops, as needed  

• Maintain lab records, logbooks, and production documents

• Arrange for equipment repair, as well as coordinate service offerings with outside vendors.

• Manage the lifecycle of clinical samples, including shipping, reception, storage, and disposal, ensuring chain of custody and compliance with customer guidelines.

• Oversee frozen and room temperature sample handling, including unpacking, logging, storage, and disposal.

• Prepare and maintain shipment documentation for inbound and outbound samples, ensuring compliance with company guidelines.

• Perform quality control, track samples in LIMS, and manage inventory updates for accurate sample records.

• Support sample transfer and storage, including coordination with laboratories and communication with shippers.

• Address logistical, administrative, and scientific issues related to sample management and update relevant tracking systems.

•  setting up lab space, receiving and organizing samples, and working alongside another associate.
