This position develops, tests, and maintains the organization’s public-facing websites and web applications, with a focus on performance, accessibility, and modern web standards. The role emphasizes collaboration across teams to deliver responsive, user-friendly digital tools that support a wide range of users and services.

Duties & Responsibilities:
 

Essential:

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance modern, responsive front-end code for websites and web applications, ensuring accessibility, performance, and scalability across devices and screen sizes.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, content authors, product owners, and back-end developers to deliver high-quality user experiences aligned with business goals and accessibility standards.
  • Translate requirements and feedback into functional, maintainable solutions using HTML5, modern CSS (Sass or equivalent), and JavaScript frameworks such as React and Next.js.
  • Integrate with REST and GraphQL APIs to deliver dynamic content and services, ensuring frontend reliability as data structures evolve.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing workflows, and documentation to ensure consistency, usability, and long-term maintainability of the front-end codebase.

Qualifications:    

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, UX Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience developing, testing, and maintaining customer-facing websites or web applications using modern JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Proficiency with Git and CI workflows.
  • Strong experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, particularly React and Next.js.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript, with experience building and maintaining applications in a TypeScript-first environment.
  • Proficiency in responsive design and accessibility best practices across devices and browsers.
  • Experience integrating and consuming REST and GraphQL APIs, with the ability to adapt to evolving data structures.
  • Understanding of performance-aware development and basic caching or proxying concepts.
  • Proficiency with modern frontend tooling such as Webpack, Vite, or similar.
  • Experience with debugging tools and performance dashboards (e.g., Google Analytics, New Relic).
  • Comfortable working in MacOS and Linux environments, including use of SSH.
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, or Playwright.
  • Understanding of scalable, component-based frontend architecture and design patterns.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including documentation of technical decisions.
  • Effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with attention to detail.
