Sr. DevOps Engineer

This individual will play a pivotal role in developing innovative and effective solutions for our DoD customers within the IC sector.

Role Overview

The Sr. DevOps Engineer will be responsible for translating customer requirements into innovative solutions that support mission-critical defense IT systems. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on expertise, focusing on modernizing legacy systems, integrating advanced solutions, and mentoring junior developers to build the next generation of solutions architects.

Primary Duties

• Develop and support custom applications in production environments.

• Build and maintain DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.

• Design and orchestrate containerization solutions, including Kubernetes deployments.

• Manage tools deployed with Helm using ArgoCD or Flux and create custom Helm charts.

• Utilize automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.

• Implement infrastructure-as-code principles for automated configurations and deployments.

• Monitor and secure container networking and storage solutions.

• Evaluate and mitigate vulnerabilities in container security technologies.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience developing custom applications and supporting them in production environments.

• 5+ years of experience building and supporting DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.

• 3+ years of experience with containerization, including Kubernetes.

• 2+ years of experience managing tools with Helm and using ArgoCD or Flux.

• 2+ years of experience with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.

• Strong knowledge of infrastructure-as-code principles.

• Familiarity with container networking, monitoring, and storage solutions.

• Experience with container security technologies and vulnerability resolution.

• TS/SCI clearance is required.

Desired Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java or Python development.

• Experience with Prometheus/Grafana or ElasticSearch/Kibana and FluentD.

• Expertise in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.

• Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools like Jenkins, Git, or TeamCity.

• Strong scripting skills in Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby.

• Familiarity with configuration languages such as JSON, YAML, or XML.

• Knowledge of virtualization technologies, including Docker, VMware, and cloud solutions.

• Strong Linux or UNIX administration skills.

• Kubernetes certification is highly preferred.

• Understanding of classified environment processes and protocols.
