About the role

Woodfords Family Services is hiring a Cybersecurity Engineer to join our innovative IT team. This role will be responsible for protecting our digital infrastructure, monitoring for threats, and implementing security systems and protocols to keep our agency data secure.

This is a full-time (40 hours per week) salaried position, accompanied with a generous compensation and benefits package. Additionally, this position will be based in Westbrook, ME with eligibility for hybrid work upon successful completion of the introductory period. 

 

Position Summary

The Cybersecurity Engineer will play a vital role in protecting the systems and data that support Woodfords’ multi-site organization. This position is responsible for monitoring and responding to security threats, managing networking systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a culture of cybersecurity awareness and education across the organization.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Monitor systems for suspicious activity, vulnerabilities, and incidents
  • Manage and maintain network systems including: firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, backups and disaster recovery (DR)
  • Conduct regular audits, penetration testing, and risk assessments
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, NIST, SOC II, GCC, and other standards
  • Develop and update security documentation (policies, disaster recovery plans, etc.)
  • Support and train agency staff on cybersecurity best practices
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues securely and efficiently 
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest threats and cybersecurity trends

 

Opportunity Details

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • $74,000-82,000 per year - commensurate with education & experience
  • Hybrid work schedule - eligible at completion of intro. period

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field
  • 1–5 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity or network administration
  • SOC audit experience preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Authorized to work in the United States related field
