We are currently seeking a Laboratory Assistant in a PRN capacity to join our diverse and dynamic team at ICON at our Salt Lake City UT site. The Laboratory Assistant plays a key role within our team by assisting/aiding the technical staff with the handling and storing of and accounting for biological lab specimens, quality control and any other relevant tasks.
Title: Laboratory Assistant
Location: On-Site Salt Lake City UT
Job Type: PRN (as needed)- Ideally seeking someone who can work approximately 20 hours/week either on weekends or during the weekdays.
What you will be doing:
• Monitoring samples/Troubleshooting discrepancies.
• Consolidating created samples/containers (i.e. slides, blocks, reports, etc.)
• Searching and retrieving documents and samples.
• Performing data entry/Monitoring e-mails and various correspondences.
• Checking that slides/blocks are properly barcoded and labeled.
• Assisting the pathologists with the technical/clerical work.
Your profile:
• You will possess a bachelor’s degree (preferred) along with 1 year of related experience in a Clinical Laboratory.
• You will have basic working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office along with excellent written/verbal communication skills, the ability to handle large work load demands and trouble shoot issues timely when required
• Exhibit appropriate time management skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to keep accurate, legible records and recognize the need to handle these records and all other information in line with GCP/GLP/GDP.
