The Royal Caribbean Group’s Royal Caribbean International brand has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Financial Analyst on the Destination Development Team reporting to the Sr Financial Analyst.
This position sits on-site in Miami, FL.
Position Summary:
Royal Caribbean is looking for an analyst to join its Infrastructure Finance Group. The Infrastructure Finance Group seeks strategic destination and infrastructure JV investments around the globe that serve Royal Caribbean Group’s growing fleet of ships and markets, improve guest satisfaction, and generate long-term returns. This position works closely with the Infrastructure Finance and Business Owners of the Destination Development team as support for financial analysis to help move projects forward and manage internal financial reporting and protocols. This position will help support the financial planning and operating forecasts as well as review, prepare, upload, retrieve, and generate financial reports. The analyst will support the Infrastructure Finance and Business Owners of the Destination Development team effectively manage their budget and help manage the teams expense activity and approvals ensuring completeness, accuracy, and conformance with procedures and regulations. Additionally, the analyst will develop and maintain reports to present to leadership updates on financial activity and forecasts for the Infrastructure Finance Group.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Financial Analysis
- Support the Infrastructure Finance and Business Owners of the Destination Development team in updating, preparing, retrieving, loading, and reporting of actuals and forecasting the portfolio of JV investment financials and conducting ad hoc analyses as needed for portfolio investments.
- This position will help analyze month-end variances and submits explanations to Accounting and Brand Finance.
- Liaison for Internal Financial Communication and Approvals
- Serve as key contact for the Infrastructure Finance group with the Capital Planning, Internal and External Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable, Audit, Compliance, Corporate Finance, Technical Accounting Group, Brand Finance, and Cash Management Office.
- Works efficiently with both internal and external departments to manage approvals, submit required SOX compliance and financial reports, and oversees accurate accounting of all JV investments and transactions.
- Budget Management
- Manage the Infrastructure Finance and Business Owners of the Destination Development team’s budget by optimizing group spend, maintaining the expense tracker, and updating the group’s forecast accordingly.
- Compliance and Audit
- Assist vendors with onboarding process, addressing any issue or pending items in Apex, coordinating with vendors and portal administrators to expedite the onboarding timeline in order to minimize risk by providing guidance on the organization’s processes, practices, compliance and expectations.
- Support internal and external audit/compliance groups with various activities that may include, testing, documentation, and data validation.
- Transaction & Invoice Processing for vendors and relevant transactions for the Infrastructure Finance group.
- This includes reviewing contracts and terms with partners and vendors to assess the financial impact as well as ensuring all transactions are accurately paid and reflected in the systems.
- Perform special projects and assignments under direction of department management/supervisor.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a quantitative discipline, and 1-3 years of experience in a financial role.
- Experience in accounting, asset management, or real estate investments preferred.
- Proficiency in EssBase/EPM experience preferred.
- Strong accounting, analytical, and financial analysis skills required.
- Detail oriented and well organized.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of management, employees, co-workers, and vendors.
- Proactive work style with the ability to work independently with limited direction.
- Ability to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic and fast paced environment while handling multiple projects.
