Empowering the world starts with living our values and empowering our team. As a quickly growing company focused on helping people live healthier and happier lives, we ensure that our team members have what they need to do their best work — both in and out of the office.
We are looking for a Senior RF Antenna Design Engineer to join our hardware team in San Diego. This person will be working with a multidisciplinary team developing our future product development efforts.
What you will do:
- Design and Development of RF Circuits and Systems: Design and develop RF circuits and systems that are integral to our products. This involves working on components like antennas, RF amplifiers, mixers, and oscillators. Ensure that these components function efficiently and meet performance requirements for signal quality, range, and power consumption.
- Testing and Optimization: Will be responsible for testing and optimizing the performance of RF systems. This includes performing signal integrity tests, measuring and analyzing RF signals, and troubleshooting issues related to interference, signal degradation, and connectivity.
- Compliance and Certification: Ensure the products meet regulatory standards. Work to ensure that the RF systems comply with regulations set by the FCC and ETSI. Prepare documentation, help with compliance testing, and make design adjustments to meet regulatory requirements.
This is an on-site opportunity and will require five days in office out of our San Diego office.
Requirements
We would love to have you on our team if you have:
- Project Experience: Proven track record of designing, simulating, and testing BLE antennas and various other short range communication protocols.
- Technical Expertise in RF Theory and Components: A strong understanding of radio frequency theory, including wave propagation, transmission lines, impedance matching, and signal processing, is essential. Familiarity with RF components such as antennas, amplifiers, mixers, and filters is also critical.
- Proficiency in RF Design Tools and Software: Skilled in using specialized design and simulation tools such as CST Studio Suite and other CAD tools.
- Experience with Measurement and Testing Equipment: Practical experience with RF measurement and testing equipment, such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and signal generators
- Knowledge of Industry Standards and Regulatory Requirements: Be familiar with industry standards and regulations related to wireless communication, such as those from the FCC, ETSI, or ITU. Understanding these regulations is crucial for ensuring that products meet compliance and certification requirements.
- Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are needed to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to signal integrity, interference, and performance optimization.
- Communication and Collaboration Skills: Effective communication and collaboration skills are important. Be able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, work with other engineers and designers, and contribute to project planning and documentation.
